Summer Vacation

We got a late start with our family vacation this year. After school on Monday we decided to take the boys to Fort Rapids, a waterpark about 5 minutes from where we live. Rocket's been saying for months he wanted to go on the waterslides. So, he finally got his wish. We decided instead of a day pass, that we'd go ahead and stay at the hotel too. It was a very nice hotel. They even bumped us up to an 8 person room! Bond and I had our own room with our own bathroom.

Here's some pics of our adventures!

Wally and Pokemon King waiting for the bucket to dump on them!

Rocket giving 2 thumbs up for an awesome ride!

I think we have a basketball star in the family!

A very pregnant mom! One week to go from here!

Belated Weekly Update

Another week gone by. Just History again. The boys have been doing so well and I really think they're learning alot! We're studying Ancients this year, which I enjoy learning about as well. We talked about the first writings, cuneiform, hieroglyphs, mummies and pyramids. Here's some pics of our projects. We did cave paintings and cuneiform tablets. The tablets have their initials in cuneiform on it.

Here's Pokemon King's:

Here's Dinodude's:

And here's Rocket's:

Rocket didn't do a cuneiform tablet, but he loves to paint, so we let him do the cave painting. I haven't really officially started with his schooling yet. I'm going to wait until the 2nd term to start him off. By then, I'll have the baby too, so that'll be pretty interesting!

Back to School

We started back up with school on Tuesday. I think it went rather well. Really, we only had scripture study and history, so it's not like pulling teeth...yet! We started back with the ancients. We discussed archaeology and what history is. We also talked about life before Nintendo!!! I think the boys were really into it. They were answering all the questions...correctly! And asking questions themselves. I really hope it continues this way. Next week the schedule will pretty much be the same, although they'll be doing their narratives and outlining. We're gradually getting back into school. We've been starting around 10 or 10:30 in the morning and finishing around lunch. But, that's also including distractions! Rocket is one of those distractions! He kept coming in the schoolroom asking for peanut butter and rice cakes, or red fruit shake (which is really just kool-aid) or yellow oreos. And today, Bond needed a haircut before his shower, so of course Rocket had to have a haircut, too, but his reasoning was that he wanted to take a bath! Silly Rocket. And, when your boy child says he wants to take a bath, you really should jump on that!

Another thing going on this week is that Dindodude's been playing fooball. He complains a little before practice, but once he's out there, he's awesome!!! Here's a picture of him in his practice jersey. He already looks like a pro!!!

Been a While

We're still here, trudging along! So much going on lately. We've (well, I should say I've) decided to start school tomorrow. We had a family reunion yesterday, so I thought I'd take the day off today to recover. We're starting slowly. For the next 2 weeks, we'll be doing scripture study, history, and according to Pokemon King, Wii Fit! Apparently, he's designated that as his physical education! Then, the next 2 weeks, we'll add in Math and English. After that, pretty much everything else. Although, we will be in limbo, since I don't know exactly when the baby's coming. But, we plan on moving along until he comes! I figured it would be better to go ahead and start rather than wait until October to officially start. This way, we'll have a little bit done and they won't have to do as much during the summer.

Dinodude starts football today. We picked up his equipment last week. He was supposed to be wearing it a little each day, but we got a little behind on that, so he's wearing it now. He's starting to get a bit nervous. I know he'll do fine, though!

I'm also preparing for the baby. I've got the crib set up in our room and today I'm washing all the clothes. I didn't realize I had so many baby clothes! Quite a few are actually from Wally, too! And they're still in great shape! We're getting excited! Only about 3 weeks left! Yeah!
