Wordy Wednesday-Field Trip

Had a field trip today. My sister set up a tour at a local Kroger. The boys did an awesome job! Of course, I forgot to take the camera, but luckily I had my phone with me. Here's a few shots:

Here's Dinodude:

Here's Rocket:

Pokemon King wouldn't let me take his picture :(

They got to see where the trucks come to deliver the food. They even got to step into the refrigerator and freezer sections! One of the stops was the pharmacy. The lady asked what the kids thought went on there. Dinodude chimes in, "I think it has something to do with cows!" (snicker, snicker!) At the end of the tour, they got to scan some items like they were a real cashier! And she even had a bag of snacks for them: Veggie Tale fruit snacks, Mickey Pretzels, Alphabet Crackers, and a drink. What a great time we all had!

Rocket Funny

As Bond was leaving for work this morning, the boys were all outside with him. It was gorgeous out! The sun was shining, it was warm and beautiful. Bond brings Rocket inside and Rocket tells me it's raining outside. I looked out the window and told him it wasn't. It was nice and sunny. He then tells me, "It's raining in Daddy's shoes!" Apparently, Bond's shoes were a little wet from walking in the grass!

Guess Where We Spent Most of Our Friday Morning!

At the Urgent Care! Pokemon King and Dinodude were doing their play fights. (You know the ones where I keep telling them someone is bound to get hurt?!) Well, Pokemon King got hurt. He fell on our floor speaker and took a nice chunk out of head. Yuck! I never know when the injury calls for stitches and I really wanted to avoid a hospital visit, so I asked a wonderful member of our church, who is a doctor, to take a look at it. He said he needed stitches, so off we went. Apparently Urgent Care was having some kind of 'special' day because the waiting room was packed! So, we had to 'patiently' wait. We probably waited in the waiting room about an hour and 15 minutes. When we got back to the room, the doctor came in quite quickly. She looked it over, went to get her assistant and off she went to stitch up Pokemon King. He did very well. The only part he wasn't happy was when she gave him the numbing shot. After that, he was ok. Since he, Dinodude and Rocket were very well behaved, we stopped at Walmart and got Lunchables for them. Except Rocket, who has a milk allergy. He got some little Oreos.

So, of course, no school today, which is probably a good thing. I redid my wall timeline and the den is a mess. So, I'm off to clean it up!

So, how was your day???

Introducing...

Baby Boy Number 5!!!!

Yup. Another boy! We are soooo excited! He'll be making his appearance in late August.

The first picture is his head. The second picture is proof he's a boy! And the third picture is a foot, which is only about 1 inch long right now.

Family Home Evening

We held our Family Home Evening last night. It was my turn for the lesson. We played "Church-ardy!" Ok, silly name, but you get the picture. We had 2 teams: Bond/Pokemon King against Wally/Dinodude. For a while we thought Wally and Dinodude were going to win, but Bond and Pokemon King pulled through. Here's a picture of my board:

The categories (in case you can't see them) were: Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon, Church History, and Latter-day Prophets) The boys really enjoyed it. Here's a few examples of the questions I asked.
  • This prophet was told to build a boat event though his brothers laughed at him. (Nephi)
  • He appeared to Joseph Smith in his room three times in one night. (Moroni)
  • This device was made from fine brass and had two spindles inside. (Liahona)
  • This man was raised from the dead. (Lazarus was what I originally intended, but Dinodude pointed out that it could've been Jesus! What a smartie!)
  • I also had 2 picture clues and 2 daily doubles.
I think I'm going to use this for history next year. Every 8-10 chapters, I'll come up with some questions over what we studied. It's a great way to reinforce what they learned. Pokemon King even said we should do this once a week to make sure we're studying our scriptures! What a great idea! And, I love game shows!!! What will I come up with next?!
