Photo Sharing

Today, I'm going to share some photos. Our house is all decked out for Christmas! So, here's some pics of my decorations, along with some Christmas photos.

Here's our family photo. Bond's eye really stands out, doesn't out?

Here's a funny picture we decided to do:

What a Weekend

Had a wonderful Thanksgiving at my parents' house. The turkey was awesome! We had mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, cranberry sauce, stuffing, pecan pie, cherry pie, and pumpkin pie. Yum, Yum, Yum! Of course I didn't eat the cranberry sauce, stuffing or the pumpkin pie, but everything else was yummy!

The only downfall to Thanksgiving was that Bond fractured his eye socket in the Turkey Bowl! His brother accidentally elbowed him in the eye, so Bond and I spent a few hours in the ER. It really wasn't that busy, but we did have to wait for the doctor to come in. Fortunately, we made it back just in time to eat. We dropped the boys off at my parents' first, just in case we didn't make it back for dinner. That way, they wouldn't have to be home alone for too long, or risk missing out on some turkey. I don't think Bond will need surgery, though. It'll probably just heal on its own. His eye doesn't seem to be affected. Everyone asks me if I did that to him. I proudly respond with a yes, but then I give in and tell them the truth!

Last night we had a bonfire at my aunt and uncle's house. Unfortunately, we got rained out. So, we moved the party inside. We played Guesstures. I never played that before. It was really fun. I might have to get that game. Albus, Pokemon Master, and Dinodude even enjoyed it. Bond was a little drowsy from his pain medicine, so he didn't play. He just relaxed, which is good for him.

Today is going to be an interesting day. Rocket went to bed around 9:45 last night, but woke up at 5:30! So, he's a bit crabby. Right now he's yelling in my ear because he wants to stand on the autoharp, but I won't let him. One more hour and he'll go down for a nap. Think he'll make it? Let's hope. Plus, we got a late start with school, so we'll be working late today!

I'm Back

Wow! It's amazing how reliant one can be on the internet! I think I went crazy not being able to check my email and read everyone's blogs!

Thanksgiving's in two days. I can't wait to eat some yummy turkey! On Friday, it's our tradition to put up the Christmas decorations. We do that instead of shopping like everyone else. I do not like leaving the house the day after Thanksgiving. No sale is worth that mess!

We're having a light school week. We're only doing Math, English, Handwriting, Scripture Reading, Read-Aloud and tomorrow we'll be adding some Thanksgiving activities. Oddly, I'm in a baking mood, but I just don't have the energy to do it! Probably from my lack of sleep. Hubby's been getting up really early every morning, so of course that means I wake up early, too. My duties today include major house clean up! I want to make it spotless before we decorate on Friday. Well, as spotless as possible, anyway!

Here's my to do list:
  • Load/Unload Dishwasher
  • Clean clutter off Kitchen counters
  • Clean Kitchen counters
  • Sweep Kitchen
  • Mop Kitchen
  • Sweep Foyer
  • Mop Foyer
  • Clean Bathroom
  • Clean Den
  • Dust Living/Bonus/Dining/Den Rooms
  • Vacuum Living/Bonus/Dining/Den Rooms
  • Laundry (never-ending!!!)
Hmmm. Think I can get that all done?

So, let's do any update on the kiddies:

Albus is working hard at school. He hates getting up so early for seminary, but it's good for him and I think he enjoys it. (Not the getting up early part!) I think he's finally realizing it's better to go to bed early than it is to stay up late! Although, he might want to get to bed early to avoid doing his chores!

Pokemon Master is whizzing by with his school lately! I think he might be ready to do all the math problems instead of just the evens or odds. He's just getting done way too early! Come January, I think we might have some reorganizing to do!

Dinodude has developed a slight attitude that is rubbing off on Rocket. We are trying desperately to nip that in the bud! I took Rocket and him to the store yesterday. I was worn out just listening and watching Dinodude! Where does he get all that energy? More importantly, how can I get some?

Rocket is just so much fun. The way he talks, the way he plays. I could sit all day and just watch him. He's singing songs all day long and just happy! Until he doesn't get his way. Then he pulls a Dinodude!

I've decided to call hubby, Bond, since he is a James Bond fan. He's started a new job, in which he's able to do a lot of things at home. It's pretty weird having him home, though. The biggest problem is keeping Rocket away from him. Rocket always wants to play "Big Tower" with Bond. They use the alphabet blocks and build towers just to knock them down. Rocket doesn't understand that Bond has work to do, so Bond might just have to lock himself in a room somewhere! Secretly, I think Bond enjoys having Rocket climb all over him!

Gone For a While

Just to let you all know, our internet will be down for a while. I probably won't be able to post until the 21st or 22nd, unless I use my wonderful mil's computer like I am right now!
I don't know how I'm going to live without the internet. I'm so dependent on it, especially for school. I guess it'll be a test at how well I can survive! Wish me luck!

That's Enough

Ok, I've been fiddling with blogger most of the morning. Shame on me! But, at least the boys' schooling is mostly done. So, no harm done. I even got laundry started this morning, so I'm actually in pretty good shape! They're taking a quick break before we start science. I'm hoping to get through before lunch starts. Surprisingly, it's looking quite like we'll finish! It helped quite a bit that while I was getting Rocket changed for the day and I ate breakfast, Pokemon Master went ahead and started on some of his school. He's done that for the past 2 days! Woohoo! I hope he can keep it up. Dinodude doesn't like to start his work early, but then he complains that Pokemon Master is going to get done first. Maybe one day he'll realize!

I've been looking around for other templates. I found a Thanksgiving one. I hope you all like it! Of course that means, when December rolls around I'll have to find a Christmas one. That's just too bad, huh. There are so many cool computer people out there that can do all these neat things. I wish I knew how to do all of that. I give double Kudos to all those people!

Uh-oh. Rocket sounds a bit too quiet. I'd better see what he's getting into!

I'm sitting here trying to get things ready for when the wolf/bear scouts get here. I'm the den leader. Woohoo! We're discussing tall tales today. I'm trying to brainstorm ideas for something fun to do. So, while I'm doing that, I decided to do a little blogging. I've come to the conclusion that I'm tired of calling my kids 14 year old, 9 year old, 6 year old, and 2 year old. NO MORE! They will now have nicknames that describe their personalities/interests.

Introducing:
14 year old is now Albus! He is my Harry Potter fan.

9 year old is now Pokemon Master! He is my Pokemon fan.

6 year old is now Dinodude! He loves dinosaurs.

2 year old is now Rocket! He likes the Little Einsteins.

So, there you have my boys. Eventually, I'll name hubby and myself, but for now just enjoy these precious kiddies! Okay! Back to the scout planning. They'll be here in 6 minutes! EEK!

Weekend Update

I haven't worked on a weekly report yet, so I'll try to do that today. If not, I'll combine it with this week!

14 year old had his play this weekend. We attended on Friday. 2 year old stayed home with Grandma, but 9 & 6 year olds came with us. It was an awesome performance! He only had one line, but he was on stage for quite a while. He did a great job! He looked so at home on stage. I'm going to check into the local theatre places and see about signing him up. He's looking forward to that. Maybe by his senior year, he'll have a lead! Here's some pics of him in his outfit. Isn't he handsome?

2 year old went pee in the potty for the first time this weekend. I was preparing to give the kids baths/showers and asked if he wanted to try. I usually ask and he tries, but nothing happens. He usually pees as soon as he gets in the tub. Well, nothing happened. He didn't pee in the tub either, so when he was done I dried him off and asked if he wanted to try again. He said he did and low and behold, he went! Woohoo!!! I'm so proud of him. On Sunday, he went in the morning around 9:30am. We went to church, got back home at 2:45. There was nothing in his diaper! He held it the entire time! So, he went again. I hope he sticks with it!

Now, onto something totally creepy! Time changed on Saturday, so I kept 2 year old up later in the evening. His normal bedtime is 9:00. I let him stay up until 10:45, which after the time change would actually be 9:45. I figured he'd sleep in at least a little. He wakes up at 3:30! So, I decide to let him cry a few minutes to see if he'd go back to sleep. So, I'm sitting outside his door, very sad because I don't like to hear him crying. While he's crying, I hear what sounds like another child asking him what's wrong. Then I hear 2 year old say "I twyin" (I'm crying). I don't know what that was, but it really freaked me out! So, I went ahead and got him and he fell back asleep in my arms. I guess I just need some more sleep!

Happy Halloween!!!

We had a great time trick or treating last night. The boys got more candy than they need, of course. 2 year old walked almost the entire time! He always wanted to 'push the button' or ring the doorbell. Even at the house where someone was already sitting on the porch! A few of the houses were a bit scary, but that didn't phase 2 year old. 9 year old, however, decided one house was just too scary for him, so he stayed at the end of the driveway. After we were done, we went to hubby's parents' house. Had a few treats, went to McDonald's with them, then headed home. All in all, it was a great time!

Here's some pictures of us in our costumes: Hubby and I are sports fans, 9 year old is an alien, 6 year old is Superman, and 2 year old is a pumpkin. Actually, he's super-pumpkin. Once he saw 6 year old as a superhero, he wanted to be a superhero, too! 14 year old was unable to join us because he was in the school play. They did a performance for the senior citizens.
